How Much Does a Jayco Jay Feather Cost?

There are 14 floor plans to choose from in the Jayco Jay Feather line-up — 10 Jay Feather models and 4 Jay Feather Micro models. The price for each of the Jay Feathers varies, depending on the model’s size, floor plan layout and age.

  • For a new, smaller Jay Feather Micro you can expect to pay $29,000 – $45,000.
  • For a new, standard Jay Feather Travel Trailer you can expect to pay $30,000 – $59,000.

How Age affects “New” Jay Feather Travel Trailer Prices

Before making a purchase, it’s essential to understand how age affects the price ranges of “New” Jayco Jay Feather Travel Trailers.

The lowest-priced options might include previous year models which have not sold yet. RV Dealers may have over-stocked on certain Jay Feather models from previous years and are now offering them at discounted prices to make room for current-year models.

Although there are not many differences between Jay Feather Models from current and previous years, they are not 100% exactly the same.

If you’re buying a lower priced “new” model from a previous year, be aware that it will not offer all the up-to-date features of current year Jay Feathers.

Jayco Jay Feather “Special Features”

While we are calling these ”Special Features”, all Jayco Jay Feathers come equipped with these great construction and safety features as standard features. Maybe we should have called them “Standard Special Features.”

AZDEL LAMINATION

Sidewall-2X-Group-1

Jay Feather travel trailers have a fantastic feature called Azdel lamination. Azdel is a special material that makes the walls of the Jay Feather stronger and more durable. It also weighs less than the traditional plywood used in laminate RV wall panels.

Jayco uses a process called *vacuum-bond laminating* to attach the Azdel material to the inside and outside walls, as well as the walls of the slide rooms and the back wall. This advanced construction technique makes Jay Feather RVs sturdy and durable, so they can last a long time and withstand the rigors of camping.

With Azdel lamination, you can have confidence that your Jay Feather travel trailer will be strong, reliable and resistant to water damage for all your outdoor adventures.

MAGNUM TRUSS ROOF SYSTEM

The Jay Feather’s Magnum Truss Roof System is exceptionally strong, capable of withstanding up to 4,500 lbs. This makes it the most durable roof among the top brands. Whether it’s falling trees or heavy snow loads, Jay Feather owners can have peace of mind knowing that their roof can handle the challenges posed by Mother Nature better than the competition.

INTEGRATED A-FRAME

Forest River, Grand Design, and Keystone utilize stacked and tack welded frames for their towable RVs, ensuring a robust and durable construction. Jayco takes it a step further with the Jay Feather by incorporating an integrated A-frame that runs through the main frame, preventing the hitch from buckling.

This integrated A-Frame design enhances the sturdiness and safety of the Jay Feather’s towable RV chassis, providing a long-lasting foundation similar to that of a house.

GOODYEAR TIRES

Similar to Grand Design Imagines and Keystone Passports, Jayco Jay Feathers come equipped with standard Goodyear tires. These tires are renowned for their strength and are rated for travel speeds of up to 80 mph.

goodyear tires

In contrast, many manufacturers utilize tires with lower ratings of only 60 mph. The higher capacity and speed rating of Goodyear tires provide enhanced safety on the freeway, reducing the risk of blown tires and costly RV damages resulting from exceeding the tire capacity.

Additionally, Jayco includes galvanized steel wheel wells, which further minimize the impact and potential extensive damage in the event of a blowout.

JAYCO JAY FEATHER WARRANTY

Warranty

A manufacturer warranty is of significant importance when purchasing an RV, considering the substantial investment involved. Most manufacturers provide both limited and structural warranties.

Limited warranties typically cover the RV’s internal components, requiring the appliances to match the warranty terms. Structural warranties, on the other hand, protect the RV’s structure, including the frame, roof, and walls.

While other leading manufacturers offer 1-year limited and 3-year structural warranties, Jayco sets itself apart by offering the best warranty in the industry: a 2-year limited warranty combined with a 3-year structural warranty.

Jayco’s unique warranty provides coverage for two full camping seasons, lasting twice as long as warranties offered by other manufacturers.

Additionally, the structural warranty extends to the third year, demonstrating Jayco’s commitment to product quality and customer satisfaction.

Pros and Cons of the Jayco Jay Feather Travel Trailer

Knowing the good and not-so-good things about a Jayco Jay Feather Travel Trailer can help you decide if it’s the right camper for you.

It’s important to keep in mind what may be a “Con” for you may be a “Pro” for someone else.  All of the listed Pros and Cons are points you should strongly consider before deciding if a Jay Feather is right for you.

Jayco Jay Feather PROS

  • Warranty: Virtually unmatched 2+3 year warranty for more protection and peace of mind.
  • “Dual Azdel” Walls: No Lauan Wood Paneling Used.
  • Goodyear Endurance Radials: Rated for 87mph, providing superior reliability.
  • Carpetless Throughout the RV: Easier Cleaning and more pet-friendly
  • Easy Towing: Ranging from smaller models fit for mid-size pickups, a wide variety of half-ton towables, and a few to consider with a 3/4 ton pickup.
  • Plywood Roof Decking:  Superior load-bearing capacity

Jayco Jay Feather CONS:

  • Short Queen Beds: Camp-size queens are shorter than standard queen beds.
  • Weight: A little heavier vs. many other builders in a class like this but that’s a result of the extra structure often found like their heavier grade cabinets.
  • Lack of camp-side windows: Many Jay Feather models are quite lacking in camp-side window coverage — though they do have a few models that fill that preference.
  • Power Outlets: Kitchen power outlets not always in ideal locations but they will often compensate for that by including the handy countertop pop-up power towers that are there when you need them and gone when you don’t!
