When you think of outdoor recreation most people tend to think of powersports! 4-wheeling, dirt biking, UTVing, these are all types of outdoor recreational vehicles that people also take camping with them.

Whether it’s a quick trip down to the river or a 4-hour trailhead exploration, powersports have been a popular companion with camping.

Instead of taking two vehicles with you - one to tow the RV and one to tow the toys - campers are flocking to the toy hauler RV. Toy haulers are equipped with 2 to 3 axles, and are constructed to hold the weight of powersport vehicles. Garage doors are placed on the rear of the trailer and drop down so toys can be drove up into the area and secured with tie downs. On some models, the garage door transforms into a patio area!

The floorplans that come in toy haulers either keep the garage area part of or separate from the living area. In most garage areas, after removing the toys bunks can be dropped down from the ceiling to create more sleeping capacity. When choosing a toy hauler, one of the most important aspects is measurement! Not only measuring the garage to make sure your powersports vehicle(s) will fit but also the door height. The toys might fit inside, but making sure they clear the door height is critical.
