It feels easier, more convenient, and honestly, it just feels like the way you\u2019re supposed to do it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">That\u2019s what we thought too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">Even traveling full-time, it still felt like buying \u201ccloser to home\u201d would make things simpler. If something went wrong, you have somewhere familiar to go back to. So in our minds, buying somewhere \u201ccloser\u201d just felt easier. If anything came up, we figured we\u2019d have a familiar place to go back to. It gave us a sense of security, even if we weren\u2019t actually there most of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">And beyond that, it just felt more convenient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">No long travel plans.<br>No coordinating logistics.<br>No figuring out how to get an RV from across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">Just go look at it\u2026 and buy it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">That\u2019s what we assumed the process would look like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">And to be fair, for some people, that approach works just fine. Sometimes it was small things like poor communication, confusion during the process, or feeling like they were just another transaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">But other times, it was bigger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">People talked about feeling rushed into decisions.<br>Not fully understanding what they were buying.<br>Or feeling like once the paperwork was signed\u2026 the relationship was basically over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">And the part that stood out the most?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">A lot of those people bought from a dealership close to home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">The same thing we originally thought was the \u201csafe\u201d option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">It wasn\u2019t that every local dealership was bad&#8230;. not at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">But it made us realize something important:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">Buying local didn\u2019t automatically mean you were getting a better experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">And once we started hearing that consistently, it made us take a step back and rethink what actually mattered in the buying process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bishs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/504\/2026\/02\/Solitude-moving-to-Valor-edited-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-350638\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bishs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/504\/2026\/02\/Solitude-moving-to-Valor-edited-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.bishs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/504\/2026\/02\/Solitude-moving-to-Valor-edited-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.bishs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/504\/2026\/02\/Solitude-moving-to-Valor-edited-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.bishs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/504\/2026\/02\/Solitude-moving-to-Valor-edited.jpg 1512w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center has-large-font-size\" id=\"the-realization-you-re-not-actually-local\">The Realization: You\u2019re Not Actually \u201cLocal\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">The more we thought about everything we were hearing\u2026 the more something started to stand out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">We\u2019re not local.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">Even though Pennsylvania is our home base, we don\u2019t actually live there most of the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">We\u2019re on the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">Different states.<br>Different campgrounds.<br>Different environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">And when something happens with your RV, it\u2019s almost never when you\u2019re sitting near your \u201chome\u201d dealership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">It\u2019s when you\u2019re traveling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">It\u2019s when you\u2019re on a trip, far from where you bought it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">It\u2019s when plans are already in motion and you don\u2019t have the luxury of going back to the place you purchased from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">For us, this summer is a perfect example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">We\u2019re planning to spend a lot of time up in the Upper Peninsula &#8211; hundreds of miles away from Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">So even if we had bought our RV \u201clocally\u201d\u2026..what would that actually change?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">We wouldn\u2019t be able to just swing back to that dealership if something came up. You\u2019re trusting someone to walk you through systems you may not fully understand yet. What could have been a stressful process actually became something exciting and another chapter of RV life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">Originally, we planned to trade in our RV when we got there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">But once we started talking through options, we realized we could get more value by putting it on consignment instead. That was something we hadn\u2019t even fully considered before and it\u2019s a perfect example of why having the right people guiding you matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\">There was no pressure.
