Living Area Features
The Cougar 2100RK has a direct-facing seating arrangement, meaning the dinette and sofa sit across from each other, making it a perfect spot for socializing, dining, or simply unwinding.
The theater-style seating ensures that you have the best view of the entertainment, whether that’s the TV on the opposite wall or the campsite windows just beneath it.
The knee-knock pedestal table could be a minor drawback, but it’s easy to replace if you’re tired of the knee cap bruises.
Kitchen
The rear wall of the 5th-wheel is dedicated to the kitchen. Because the counter extends the full width of the RV there’s plenty of counter space to work with.
There are tons of cupboards and drawers here for all of those ingredients and kitchen gadgets you might have. Plus, the pantry storage next to the dinette offers even more room to stash your supplies. It even comes with handy inverter-prepped outlets for powering your kitchen appliances!
Bathroom
The bathroom counter is big enough to hold your typical toiletries, and the shower is tall enough for taller travelers to get clean without worrying about hitting their heads. The hanging towel bar is great for any extra drying you might have to do, and the toilet area offers excellent legroom.
The only minor drawback is the lack of linen storage, which might require some creative solutions for towels and toiletries. But the headroom in the shower and space around the toilet might make up for it!
Bedroom
Moving to the bedroom, you’ll find a true queen bed, although it comes from the factory with a camp queen. There is plenty of storage, with a large cabinet above the bed and a spacious closet/dresser combo. The household outlets and USB plugs on both sides of the bed make it easy to charge your devices or use bedside lamps.
Road Mode
One drawback of the Cougar 2100RK is its limited road mode. When the slide is closed, you’ll lose access to the bedroom and bathroom. While this may not be an issue for some, it’s essential to consider if you prefer continuous access to these areas during travel stops. However, the RV’s compact size and weight make it easy to tow with a suitable truck, and it even includes a 3,000-pound towing hitch on the back for additional cargo or double towing.
Exterior
The exterior of the Cougar 2100RK is a mixed bag of features and considerations. The 17ft patio awning offers plenty of shaded outdoor space.
The pass-through storage compartment is well-designed and provides plenty of room for your gear.
You’ll also appreciate the power rear stabilizers for quick and easy setup.
However, the two-headed sewer outlet at the back of the RV may not be everyone’s cup of tea. Still, it’s a minor inconvenience considering the overall functionality of this RV. The inclusion of 30-pound propane bottles is a nice touch, as it provides more extended camping without frequent refills.
Potential Problems
Lack of bathroom and bedroom access during roadmode. This could be a big issue for some RVers and we totally get it. Having that access can be really important. Unfortunately, there’s just no getting around it. Once those slides are closed, so is the bathroom and bedroom.
