Basic RV Winterization Procedure
You will need:
Approximately 2 Gallons RV antifreeze

Procedure:

   1. Drain all tanks, including fresh water, grey water, & black water.
   2. Drain water heater.
   3. Turn 110V off on water heater.
   4. Locate back of water heater from inside of coach.
   5. Change bypasses on water heater.
   6. Locate water pump.
         a. If water pump does not have bypass, disconnect hose from the suction or tank side of pump.
             Attach a hose to suction side and place into one gallon of RV antifreeze.  Start water pump.
         b. If water pump has a bypass, place clear vinyl tube at bypass into one gallon of RV antifreeze &
             start water pump.
   7. Open both hot & cold on the kitchen faucet until pure antifreeze comes out of the faucet.  Close the kitchen faucet.
         a. Continue this process to each faucet in the coach, one at a time.
             (Do not forget the outside shower!)
   8. Open toilet ball valve until pure antifreeze comes out of the valve.
   9. Pull clear vinyl hose at water pump out of RV antifreeze.
  10. Let water pump run until you hear a gurgling noise.
  11. Shut water pump off.
  12. Open all faucets in coach.
  13. Block toilet valve open.
  14. Drain off all water in holding tanks completely.
  15. Open all gate valves.
  16. Place cap on sewer connection.
  17. Pour extra antifreeze down p-traps, approximately 1 pint per p-trap.

*If your coach has a washer/dryer and/or icemaker please consult a technician.  The above procedure will not be adequate.

Wheel Bearing Pack & Brake Adjustment               
*Remove wheels, disassemble hubs as needed   
*Inspect brake shoes, magnets & drums           
*Inspect springs, shackles & equalizers       
*Inspect tires & wheels
*Note any areas that need attention
*Remove, clean & repack bearings
*Replace seals
*Replace adjuster spring if needed
*Lubricate brake mechanism & adjuster
*Lubricate shackles if applicable
*Reassemble & adjust brakes
*Reinstall wheels, torque lugs as needed
*Check & adjust tire pressure
*Apply voltage to 7-way plug and activate breakaway  to verify proper brake operation

Tire, Brake & Suspension Inspection

*All inspections are included in wheel bearing pack and brake adjustment
*Note any areas that need attention

Roof Sealant & Visual Inspection
*Inspect roof material for damage, mildew, etc
*Inspect roof seal for cracks, voids or peeling
*Inspect roof vents, skylights, etc for damage or      cracking
*Inspect sealant around windows, doors, compartments, lights, etc
*Inspect sealants at all side and corner moldings
*Note any areas that need attention

Battery Service
*Clean batteries and battery tray
*Disconnect all cables, clean battery posts
*Clean or replace cable ends as needed
*Re-connect and spray with terminal protector
*Check battery water level, top off as needed
*Fully charge all batteries
*Test each battery with Hydrometer and/or load tester
*Connect voltmeter at each battery, verify charging from Converter and alternator as applicable
*Note any areas that need attention

LP Gas System Leak Test
*Connect manometer at stove or other fittings
*Turn on supply and verify maximum pressure with
all appliances off does not exceed 14” WC
*Turn off supply, bleed pressure down and monitor for 15 minutes
*Turn supply on and adjust regulator to correct running pressure
*Turn off supply, remove manometer, reassemble stove
*Note any discrepancies

Gas Appliance Service
Water Heater
*Inspect for leakage, sooting etc
*Blow out burner, flue, and compartment
*Adjust pilot or igniter as needed
*Realign burner and adjust air mixture as needed
*Inspect anode rod if equipped
*Operate on gas and electric to verify operation
Refrigerator
*Blow out burner, flue and compartment
*Remove orifice, clean with solvent, reinstall, leak
    test fittings
*Inspect cooling unit, ventilation, etc
*Operate on gas and electric to verify operation


Furnace
*Inspect unit for damage, sooting
*Blow out flue and compartment
*Inspect burner, igniter, and flame when accessible
*Run unit to verify proper operation and air flow

Stove & Oven
*Inspect pilots, clean or adjust as needed
*Inspect igniters.  Adjust as needed
*Operate stove and oven burners, clean and adjust air mixture
*Note any areas that need attention

Slide Out Rooms – Service & Adjustments

*Inspect room seals and alignment
*Clean slide mechanisms, tracks, rams etc
*Lubricate gears, tracks, with dry lubricant
*Lubricate room seals with silicone spray or seal
treatment
*Check hydraulic fluid.  Top off if needed
*Operate rooms to verify correct operation
*Note any areas that need attention

Roof Air Conditioner Service
*Inspect roof airs for damage, looseness
*Remove exterior shrouds; blow out units to remove debris
*Blow out condensers to remove dirt, insects etc
*Straighten exposed condenser fins as needed to repair minor damage
*Clean interior filters
*Operate each unit to verify proper cooling and air flow
