We have encountered plenty of customers who are looking for a fifth wheel toyhauler who want and need an optimized living room area. Although toyhauler layouts are designed specifically to allow people to haul their side by sides, bikes, and other toys, it would be nice to come back and relax in a comfortable living room after a long day of fun. If that sounds like something you’d also like, then the 395MS might be the layout you’re looking for!
This camper has got features out the wazoo! The camper itself is constructed with a thick aluminum frame. The walls are made with the industry’s best lauan, have excellent insulation, and are pinch-rolled laminated. The underbelly is heated and enclosed, with the water tanks and water lines enclosed as well (which helps prevent freezing during those colder parts of the year). One of the nifty features about this model’s underbelly is that it has LED light strips underneath, so if you need to dump your tanks at night or need to check under your camper, you don’t need to bring a flashlight with. Since this camper is enormous, its got a triple axle on the Morryde 3000 suspension system with quality Goodyear tires. You will also find a ladder on the side and a fuel station to fuel your generator and toys. The camper is prepped for a back up camera and a tire pressure monitoring system. It’s got three electric awnings on the side and an outside entertainment system with a TV and speakers. This camper comes with solar, is generator prepped (and in most cases has a generator installed), and even has hydraulic jacks that can be automatically leveled with the touch of a button.
We’ve been preaching about the living room area, so let’s talk about it. The reason why this camper is the most popular Grand Design toyhauler floorplan is for this reason. When you walk into the camper, you feel like you’ve entered a small apartment. You’re greeted by the kitchen and to your left, you will find the living room area filled with Thomas Payne furniture. There are opposing slides, allowing more room for the family, and three sofa seating areas. Two of which are technically theater seats and have four recliner seats. The entertainment center features a big flat-screen TV, a sound system overhead, and an electric fireplace. In the kitchen, you will find yourself surrounded by solid-surface countertops, a stainless steel sink with a gooseneck faucet, residential-style appliances, plenty of storage space, and even a real-tile backsplash. Throughout this main living room space, there are plenty of large, tinted windows with blackout shades allowing you to control the amount of light that seeps into your camper. But let us tell you, this camper allows such beautiful natural lighting, it truly makes the camper feel like home!
In the garage, you will find a 14’ by 101” garage space. But, keep in mind, this is not a true 14-foot garage because of the area the half bath takes up. If you have specific measurements you need measured, make sure you bring a tape measure when you go to look at this beast of a camper to make sure it’s the right length and width you need. In the half bath, you will find a sink and a porcelain toilet with a soft-close toilet seat. Next to this, you will find a washer/dryer prep. You will also find happy jack sofas/beds in the garage that rise up and down. These are specially made and have the grand design logo on them and also come with a foldable cup holder. The garage has its own 15,000 BTU AC unit, a TV, built-in speakers, and even a garage camera prep to check on the kids or to keep an eye on your toys. The garage ramp turns into a patio space if you so choose, and it even comes with its own electric awning.
In the master suite, you will find a closet slide that has plenty of storage space for all of your wife’s clothes and knickknacks she brings. The plentiful and deep storage space you get in every Grand Design RV is one of the best features of the manufacturer. Although there is not much outdoor storage on this camper, the inside storage more than makes up for what it lacks on the outside. In the bathroom, you will find the same type of toilet found in the half-bath (porcelain throne, soft-close toilet seat), and you will also find one of the industry’s coolest showers! It’s got a crazy shower nozzle that has four different flat-head shower nozzles that you can control. It’s also humongous and tall, so larger folks who usually feel cramped and normally have to bend over to shower can now rinse off and relax. The bed itself is a king-sized bed, and has storage space all around it. Additionally, the bed goes into the front cap, but is not rounded, meaning that couples who like to sit up and read in bed can do so comfortably (without morphing into the front cap).
